Going to a park is a great way to pass the time, but if you are in some cities you will want to go to a park to enjoy the quiet that is present in parks. This is very true when you are in a city like Austin. Since this is the case we have went out and ranked the top 7 parks in Austin.

  • 7. Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center -

With a strong focus on the plants native to Texas you will find the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is a great place to go. It is a lovely flower garden and definitely a place that is very warm and inviting.

  • 6. Banton Creek Greenbelt -

When you look at this park, you may think that it is not that attractive, but you need to realize it is amazing. It has opportunities for rock climbing, a local favorite, swimming, and if you want to go biking you cannot go wrong here.

  • 5. Mayfield Park and Nature Preserve -

This is a beautiful park that sits on twenty one acres. It has everything you could imagine and more. What else is amazing is the fact the park allows you to have a chance to see the free roaming peacocks that are on the grounds.

  • 4. Zilker Botanical Gardens -

If you notice we have two Zilkers noted here. That is because the botanical garden is located inside of the Metro park. The botanical garden is definitely one you will want to go and enjoy because it makes it easier for you to get away from all the stresses related to the park and the city both.

  • 3. Zilker Metropolitan Park -

This is a great park to go with the family and enjoy the water and even paddle boarding. The bad news is you have to rent the paddle board, but it is definitely worth it to get out of the city and into the water and enjoy a trip out to the water.

  • 2. Pease District Park -

A great urban park that has trails that are paved and perfect for walking on is what you find here. What else is great is the fact the park has sports areas and even picnic areas for those that want to get out of the house and enjoy a meal outside.

  • 1. McKinney Falls State Park -

This is a state park in Texas and it is easy to see what sets this place apart from the rest. The falls are beautiful and stunning at the same time. However, they are also a great way for you to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a day away from everything.
